The doors that were restored as part of the project belong to a building built in 1900, which is an architectural monument. It is located in the historical center, on the main pedestrian artery of the city – stometrivka, on 15 Nezalezhnosti Street. Now it is a residential building with commercial premises on the first floor (residents and businesses also financially supported the restoration of the door). Previously, the bourgeois bank was located here, and in 1941, the regional Board of the OUN (Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists) was located on the second floor of the building. On September 14-15, the participants of the Board were arrested by the Gestapo, including Vasyl Bandera, Stepan Bandera`s brother. Learning about the history of the building, we get convinced of how important events took place here, and all that historical exchanges were witnessed by this door.

The entrance itself is also interesting, because here you can admire the protected colored stained glass window with irises, marble stairs, original window frames, a light lantern. It is also worth noting that there is a positive example of preserving the heritage here — one of the residents is restoring old windows, the view from which overlooks stometrivka.

The doors themselves were not in the best condition — covered with several layers of paint (research revealed its original colour), its lower part damaged by corrosion and had destroyed parts. The door was also partially covered by a sign (after restoration it was taken away). However, an authentic brass handle has been preserved, as well as a sign with the name of the blacksmith shop that made this door 121 years ago – P.Jaroszewski, Slusarnia Stanislawow.

To restore its beautiful authentic appearance, the doors needed professional restoration. In addition to the physical preservation of the doors, it was another successful example of careful attitude to the history and architecture of the city, which will inspire everyone to follow it and respect the cultural heritage of Ivano-Frankivsk.
