The Circle of Care, the month of healthcare workers awareness on working with grief, is already a traditional event, which is being held for the second time by Opika Anhela NGO: They held an information campaign, published information for doctors, talked about grief, grieving and support.

The initiative managed to provide healthcare institutions in Ivano-Frankivsk, the region and Ukraine with information materials to support families in grief. About 100 healthcare workers ordered and received printed materials from our organisation. The materials sent: 331 Saying Goodbye to an Angel guides, 2,000 First Aid For Grieving Hearts brochures, 4,500 support group flyers, 4,500 Being Parents of an Angel flyers, 3,000 healthcare record stickers, and 500 doorknob badges.

Healthcare workers who ordered the materials mastered skills to work with patients in grief, which will significantly reduce the level of stress when working with vulnerable groups and prevent professional burnout.
Patients will get basic initial psychological support from staff. Bereaved parents will get immediate information about the free support available, including: Information about support groups, information about the Being the Parents of an Angel online program.

The Opika Anhela website has published an article — Psychological support at the early stage of dealing with patients’ perinatal loss. Advice to doctors from a perinatal psychologist.
