Disability Doesn’t Set Limits — Discrimination Does

The organization developed its own training course aimed at increasing acceptance of people with disabilities, teaching the basic rules of etiquette for communicating with and supporting people with disabilities, introducing universal design rules and accessible environment for the low-mobility population of the city, informing about different disabilities and their impact on treatment of people with health problems, and introducing new state construction standards regarding the mandatory creation of barrier-free spaces for the people with impaired mobility.
Four representatives from the organizers have already held a training course for the Regional Committee on Accessibility, winning over all those present. A meeting with residents and staff of the board and care home for seniors in Ivano-Frankivsk was also held recently.
In the future, such trainings are planned for the members of the committees on accessibility in each district of the region, as well as for representatives of the architecture and design organisations of Ivano-Frankivsk.
