IT Education Project

Realized 27.07.2019 - 31.01.2020

43 060 UAH

Only 6 % of those who take online courses complete them successfully. That is why it was decided to combine online and offline teaching methods into one innovative system — P2P.IF.UA, an educational portal. It will take full advantage of the peer-to-peer approach and quality educational content.

P2P means peer-to-peer. Peer-to-peer is a computer network technology that allows several devices to share resources and communicate with each other without intermediaries. This means that each computer that is an element of the system acts as a server for the files stored on it.

P2P networks offer huge opportunities for information exchange. Using this technology means transfer of a large number of files via devices located in different places on the planet. The advantage of the platform is also the constant access to mentors.

The main objectives of the project are to:

- Deploy the educational online platform for peer-to-peer learning in Ivano-Frankivsk
- Create an opportunity for the platform students to gain new social and occupational contacts.
- Implement the Stanford University Basic Computer Science Course (CS106A) on this system.
- Teach IT minimum to 40 people for free.

Later, the educational portal will be used not only to gain knowledge in the IT sector, but also for other educational products: courses in design, civil rights, etc.

The first wave of training will begin on 1 October 2019. The training will be supported by mentors from the IT companies. https://p2p.if.ua/

Funding from the Urban Space 100 will cover the cost of project administration, purchase of a domain, educational portal setting, transfer and accommodation for coaches.
