RE:Space public sorting station is a space for eco-conscious people forming a community that is engaged in educational activities and implementation of eco-projects aimed at increasing the culture of conscious consumption and protecting the environment from municipal solid waste pollution.

The station is located in Ivano-Frankivsk on the territory of PROMPRYLAD.RENOVATION innovation centre and serves the city’s residents at no cost. It accepts about 15 types of secondary raw materials. After the start of a full-scale invasion there was a need to purchase a pressing equipment for Tetra Pak multi-layer packages, since the plant that processed this packaging materials was located in the Kharkiv Region and suspended its operation. And at the new partner plant in the Rivne Region, there was requirement for a minimum batch size of 5 tons, therefore RE:Space temporarily stopped accepting Tetra Pak from the public.

During the implementation of the project, additional funding in the amount of UAH 41,177 was attracted through crowdfunding. For these funds, the organization purchased floor scales, a hydraulic trolley, a packaging tape and a tensioning device for packaging. We also managed to increase the staff and number of volunteers. The team conducted lectures and excursions for residents of the city and visitors to the shunting yard.

Funds provided by Urban Space 100 was spent to purchase a pressing equipment for secondary raw materials to optimise the processes of accumulation, storage and logistics of the station.
