It is important for every old European city to preserve its historical image, its architectural local identity and its attractiveness to tourists.

That is why the preservation and careful treatment of historical and architectural heritage that makes up the face of Ivano-Frankivsk should be a strategically important task for its residents, the public and the city authorities. Beautiful, well-kept, restored architectural landmarks will further emphasise the city’s long-standing history, cosy atmosphere and comfort as well as contribute to its tourist attraction.

The kamianytsia at 43 Nezalezhnosti Str. was built in 1939, just before the start of the Second World War. In 1986, during the reconstruction of Stometrivka Boulevard, the door of the Constructivist building was covered with wooden clapboards, hiding the authentic appearance. The goal of the project is to restore the historical look of the door and recover the missing details. The entrepreneurs who work in this building also financially supported the project.

Grant funds from Urban Space 100 were used for carpentry work to make the door unit, glazing and the manufacture of fittings.

The project received partial financing from the declared amount.
