Urban Xmas Radio

The radio worked 24/7 for all the visitors of the social restaurant Urban Space 100, friendly institutions in different cities of the country, and all listeners from 1 December 2016 to 19 January 2017.

Goal

To show through music and radio programs the multicultural diversity of Christmas celebrations in Ukrainian cities, and particularly in Ivano-Frankivsk and the restaurant Urban Space 100.

The "Center for Contemporary Art" website

Realized

Goal

To create a modern, dynamic website that highlights events of contemporary art, promptly reacts to cultural events in the city and serves as an online archive of Ivano-Frankivsk artistic process of the 20th-21st centuries for those who study these processes (scientists, art historians, students etc.)

Making a designer bench-construction with a solar panel to charge gadgets located near the sports ground «Urahan»

Realized

In January 2017 a solar panel was installed into a bench-construction, it was the final stage of the project.

Goal

To make a sports and recreation area of public use in the Pasichna district near the sports complex of the Academy NFC «Urahan», to make sports and leisure more accessible and interesting for the residents, especially for children and the youth.

Right business signboards

Realized

20 designers, architects, workers of advertising sphere from Ivano-Frankivsk, Cherkasy, Chernivtsi, Lviv and Poland took part in the workshop and created 43 models of signs for different types of buildings.

Goal

To improve the visual perception of the city by implementing the best practices of manufacturing technically correct business signboards for the entire sections of three streets with the total length of 346 m.

Restoration of the doors in 5 Kurbas Street

Realized

Goal

To preserve the historical heritage of Ivano-Frankivsk, providing an example of restoring the beautiful ancient doors in 5 Kurbas Street.

Doctor Holiday

Realized

About 100 students were involved in volunteering. 800 children, mothers and doctors had the opportunity to see volunteers gaming performances.

Goal

To improve the emotional condition of sick children and their families in inpatient hospital units through laughter, play therapy, communication; teaching the active youth of the city how to be merciful, sympathetic to the other people’s grief.

Kurt Vonnegut’s dystopia «Galapagos»

In January 2017, Kurt Vonnegut's dystopia "Galapagos" appeared on the bookshelves of the city.

Goal

Development of the city’s cultural segment; implementation of an alternative publishing project; the formation of image of Ivano-Frankivsk as a city that cultivates educational and cultural projects.

The first international festival of craft beer

Realized

On 26 August in Ivano-Frankivsk there was Hoppy Fest – the first international festival of craft beer in Ukraine.

Goal

To bring the culture of beer consumption to the next level and familiarize Ivano-Frankivsk citizens and visitors with the producers of a high quality product. To organize the best traditional beer festival.

Children’s school of architecture

Realized

12 young citizens of Ivano-Frankivsk have been working on their projects for three days.

Goal

To create a good background for the development of Ukrainian cities.

A creative animation work about the life of people in the city was made. It used stylized artistic figures.

Goal

To make a cartoon «Running to God. A Prayer for joy» using the figures created for the Nativity Scene project.

«Bike reanimation»

Realized

Opening bike repair stations in the city center near the central building of Ivano-Frankivsk Medical University gave every cyclist a chance to repair his bike accessibly.

To improve the cycling infrastructure in Ivano-Frankivsk.

Laboratory of Friends Project

Realized

A series of plein air painting sessions in the Carpathians was organized for the pupils of Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Center of Psychosocial Rehabilitation.

The project is aimed at creative cooperation and drawing attention to children from troubled families.

Publishing of comics «Franek, dobry ranek!» («Good morning, Frankivsk!»)

On 23 May, there was a presentation of comics about the city life and its paradoxes «Franek, dobry ranek!»

Publishing the dystopia of Aldous Huxley «Brave New World» within the framework of the project «Library of Babel»

In his dystopia «Brave New World» Aldous Huxley tried to look beyond the horizon of the future and described the world of the coming time.

Goal

Development of the city’s cultural segment, implementation of an alternative publishing project and creation for Ivano-Frankivsk the image of a city that cultivates educational and cultural projects.

The project «Know your blood type!»

326 people were examined during street actions. 73 people registered in the electronic database on Donor.ua.

Goal

Popularization of conscious free donation of blood and its components among the citizens of Ivano-Frankivsk.

Street Music Day

Realized

It was the third time this great musical event, featuring musicians from all over Ukraine, took place in Frankivsk.

Goal

To fill in the city space with music, raise interest and attract people to the development of the city music movement, stir the musical environment to activity, draw attention to street music. To unite the citizens around the joint street festival, where every eager peson can participate – as a musician, dancer, listener, member of a workshop, author of a hand-made, or a culinary specialist.

To modernize the territory of Mickiewicz Square with the help of interactive installation. To demonstrate how new media could be integrated into historic space of Ivano-Frankivsk.

Ivano-Frankivsk became the first in the region to get an inclusive playground.

Thanks to the Hackathon new reorganization models of the square in front of the publishing house were developed; the authorities, businesses and community were involved in the work.

Goal

Development of ideas, conceptions, action plans, sources of financing in order to revitalize abandoned territory into a modern square in Sichovi Striltsi Street (near the old publishing house).

Social project «Looking for Home»

Realized

The action helped to find home in the families of Ivano-Frankivsk citizens for some animals from the shelter.

Goal

To inform residents about the chance to take a sterilized and vaccinated dog or puppy from the shelter and the attempts of the fund to find home for stray animals. To promote the social project «Looking for Home» from the animal protection charitable organization «Sirko’s Home».

School futsal tournament «The Cup of NFC «Urahan»

30 educational establishments took part in the the tournament, the winners received awards and gifts.

Offer healthy leisure activities for Ivano-Frankivsk students, encourage school communities, children, teachers, headmasters, parents’ associations to play the favorite game – futsal.
